Inclusive Tech Lab – 4/30/19
We’ll be talking about how to “dare to share your ideas — even when it scares you.” You know those moments when you have that idea and you want to speak out, but you worry about stepping on toes, or getting it wrong, or maybe you think it’s beyond your title so you shouldn’t act? Tacita Morway is going to talk about catching these moments and finding the courage to act and the strategy to safely bring your voice to the table.
Tacita is the VP of Engineering at ActBlue, a nonprofit fundraising platform for Democratic campaigns, progressive organizations, and nonprofits that works to give voice to small-dollar donors. Tacita aims to foster environments that are safe, inviting, and empowering for everyone; where people can engage in tough conversations and teammates are active allies. She was runner-up for the 2017 Best Tech Manager in Boston award. She’s a regular speaker in the Boston tech circuit, sharing her ideas, her own face-plant moments, and lessons learned.

Diversity and inclusion are essential to creating a safe workspace.
Practice saying what you want to say.
Should meet regularly with your team.
